Hi, I’m Sabine.

My home is now the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, but I was born in Germany and spent most of my life there.

In 2006, I moved to Scotland, and a year later, I founded my translation company, Speaking World. Since then, I have been translating a variety of content, primarily in Scotland’s tourism sector.

One of my biggest dreams, however, was to translate novels—or to write them myself. Or both.

Since 2018, I have been focusing mainly on translating novels and, lo and behold, I published my first book in April 2023.

Why Am I the Right Person for the Job?

If I could, I would probably spend my entire day reading—escaping to unknown worlds, fighting dragons and orcs, or reliving great love stories.

From an early age, I have not only been an avid reader but also a storyteller, writing down my own tales, playing with words, and bringing stories to life.

As a native German speaker, I don’t just translate words—I capture the sense, the feeling, and the meaning behind them, carefully transferring them from English into German to ensure that nothing is lost in translation.
