About Me
Hi,
I am Sabine.
My home is now the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, but I was born in Germany and spent most of my life there.
In 2006 I moved to Scotland and a year later I established my translation company “Speaking World“. Since then I am translating various things, mostly in the Scotland-Tourism sector.
One of my biggest dreams, however, was translating novels. Or writing them myself. Or both.
Since 2018 I am now mostly translating novels and lo and behold, published my first book in April 2023.
Why am I the right person for the job?
If only I could, I would most probably spend the whole day reading, escaping to unknown worlds, fighting dragons and orcs or reliving great love stories.
Since early childhood, I am not only an avid reader but I am also telling stories, writing them down, playing with words etc.
As a native German, I am able not only to translate your words but also the sense, the feeling and the meaning behind them, transferring them carefully from English into German and making sure that nothing will get lost in translation.
